Who's knocking?

If you found PingeonBot in your logs, someone asked Pingeon to keep an eye on your site.

What it does

PingeonBot requests one URL on a schedule (at most every 30 seconds) and checks the answer: the status code, a word on the page, or the certificate. It doesn't crawl, follow links, run scripts or store your pages.

How to recognise it

Every request carries the user agent PingeonBot/1.0 (+https://pingeon.page/bot) and comes from a server in Germany.

How to stop it

If you didn't set this up and want it to stop, block the user agent, or email [email protected] with the URL being checked and we'll remove the monitor.
